Is a founding Managing Director of Storm Ventures, an early stage venture fund focused on Mobile, SaaS and Cloud. He is passionate about working with seed and early stage entrepreneurs and companies and has a strong reputation of being a trusted partner. Alex currently focuses on any mobile or software opportunities that are disruptive and create value for enterprise customers.
Prior to Storm Ventures, he spent twenty-one years in networking and computing at ROLM, IBM, Stratacom, and Cisco in several executive positions. He was part of the founding team at Stratacom, ($4.3 billion acquisition by Cisco in 1996). He was a SVP/GM during Cisco’s high growth era (1996-2000), where sales and employees grew fivefold to $20B and 40,000 respectively and 63 companies were acquired.
Alex holds a BSEE from Stanford University and an MBA from Santa Clara University. He helped create the Advisory Board of the Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Santa Clara. He is also a co-founder and on the board of Puente Labs, an organization whose mission is to find the best and highest potential companies in Latin America and help their founders scale their businesses by leveraging Silicon Valley resources. He has held various board positions in both private and public companies.
