María Ariza has been recently appointed CEO of AMEXCAP, the Mexican Association of Private Equity and Venture Capital Funds. The AMEXCAP is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to supporting the growth of the private equity and venture capital industry in Mexico. AMEXCAP’s membership is comprised of over 110 funds, from leading investment firms active in our country to local fund managers. Members have raised accumulated capital of more than USD $45 billion to be invested in the country. AMEXCAP is also formed by over 85 specialist service providers such as financial and legal specialized firms and strategic allies involved in Mexico’s economic development. Maria is also founding partner and Board Member of Facial Design S.A. de C.V., a 100% Mexican manufacturer and distributer of beauty and personal care products; Partner and Board Member at Dabvsa (Desarrollos Aplicados al Buen Vivir S.A. de C.V), company composed of a strong team of qualified professionals with wide experience in managing and operating residencies in Mexico and abroad, that aims to improve the quality of life of adults by offering all‐inclusive service developments; and Partner of Crediauto Financial, an automobile financing company in America focused on individuals with no credit history or with limited access to financing. Prior to such endeavors, Maria worked as Associate at NAFTA Fund of Mexico, LP, a private equity fund investing in medium sized Mexican companies, where she analyzed and structured investment opportunities, performed industry and financial analysis, managed due diligence processes and developed and implemented corporate strategies for the promoted companies of the portfolio. Previously, Maria worked as Director of the Project Management Office at Impulso, Grupo Empresarial, and at APEC Organizing Committee being responsible of leading, planning and executing projects. Maria has been exposed to important individual and institutional investors, as well as dealt effectively with executives and their management teams. On the side, Maria is also Board Member of the Council of Development Research & High Culture FICSAC; the Technical Board of Engineering of the Universidad Iberoamericana; Fundación CMR A.C; and Fundhepa A.C. Ms. Ariza received a Master in Business Management from Harvard University, having qualified for the Dean’s List of Academic Achievement Award, and holds a BS in Industrial Engineering Cum Laude from Universidad Iberoamericana.
